Marcus was one of 10 Greater Sudbury’s outstanding entrepreneurs and businesses honoured Thursday by the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce at its 25th annual Bell Business Excellence Awards gala.

The business community came together in a sold-out crowd of about 400 to celebrate the award finalists and recipients.

The Alibi Room, located on Durham Street, describes itself as “a modern, upscale and sophisticated take on a prohibition era speakeasy. Join us at our elegant wooden 1920s inspired bar top to watch our bartenders do what they do best, mix up exquisite cocktails before your eyes.”

It features more than 90 unique Bourbons, Canadian and American Whiskies and Scotches, leather couches for conversation with a “fantastic array of local Ontario craft beer, wine and a shareable tapas menu.”

It also features an open mic (Wednesday), a Live DJ Lounge set coupled with a cocktail night (Thursday) and live bands every Friday and Saturday with an industry night jam session on Sundays.

For the past 25 years, the chamber has hosted its Bell Business Excellence Awards as an opportunity to not only acknowledge the contributions of area business owners but also learn from them and about them.

From young entrepreneurs operating out of their homes to established owners of international companies, the Bell Business Excellence Awards celebrate the people “who form the backbone of our community and the family, friends, and experiences that keep them going.”
